Read your recent post "Thoughts" and respect your desires. It is very clearly written and

sincere that you want to have control of your life and your right to call the shots at the end.

I pray that this will be a long time coming and that you and Wendy have more meaningful

time together. For all of us every day counts....Love, Mary

I hope you get on that advisory group, Sean. Your thoughts on this blog and in person have been really enlightening for me and would have a real impact with a bigger platform right now, as research is being cruelly curtailed or slowed down (not that you don't have enough to deal with). I'm really grateful that you continue to share your process and reflections here.

Such honesty and all encompassing love for those around you as well. I can relate to your words with those of my husband, Henry, as he - like you -know that Knowledge is power. You are having some very difficult and loving conversations. And I admire your determination to live each moment to the fullest. I also keep Wendy in my heart as it is not easy to know the love of our life will leave us way too soon. Keep pushing the envelope, for you and Wendy. I see the thought process you go through (very intense) and as with Henry, I loved him for his loving compassion as we tackled this journey together. I do remember one special moment - sitting on edge of bed - as we embraced - He said, "It shouldn't be this hard to die". I know that what you are going through and what Henry went through are not the same. Yet, I will say, that Wendy and I are the fortunate ones to have our love shared with men like you and Henry. Mimi I apologize if this is not the forum to 'compare', but I admire You and Wendy.

Appreciate the effort you make to keep us informed! Thank you. I heard British actress Liz Carr on NPR a day or so ago speaking against assisted dying as it is about to be debated this Fall in Scotland. She felt there may come to a point where disabled people such as she is will be compelled to die. Will be interesting to see where it leads. That is a distinction different than offering the option to terminally ill.

It is just so not the point! Nobody is compelling anyone to die. But it should be an option for those who want it. I get really annoyed by this line of thought. (I read an op-ed by Carr earlier.) Thanks for the comment. It looks as though it will remain a tough road.
